Retreating to his cave, Bunny resigns himself to having given Easter away. Then, Wren takes Bunny to see Easter—baby robins, woodchucks, mice, and beavers. Easter? Easter is new life . . . Easter is all around us today. Although some may object to the missing Christian aspects, the loving feel of this certainly says Easter more than decorated eggs. Magnificent Spring Story!

Dori Chaconas once again brings us a fantastic picture book with a delicate and sweet story. The rhythm of the story flows wonderfully throughout the beautifully illustrated pages. Little Bunny goes on an adventure and comes to a beautiful conclusion about life in the end. Young and old alike, it would be very difficult for anyone who reads this book to not be touched and inspired by Dori's uplifting writing.

lovely children's book

I found a copy of this book at my local library, and after reading it to a group of preschoolers, decided I had to have a copy for my granddaughter. It's a great story about the Easter experience told simply and without actual reference to the Christian event--suitable for those times when the Bible story isn't appropriate. The illustrations are wonderful--and the preschoolers I worked with seemed to enjoy them as much as the adults. I recommend this for your collection of children's books!

Kindergarten-Grade 3-- This fictionalized picture book considers Columbus's first voyage from the point of view of a young unnamed sailor who is there solely because he needs a job. As the brief text describes the trip, the sailor's fearful and disgruntled thoughts are heard, with the recurring admission that, `` `I do need the job.' '' Meanwhile, the ink-and-watercolor illustrations filled with cartoonlike figures depict life aboard ship and on land. All are framed with a border of tiny ships and mermaids. A fold-out map shows the complete voyage and parts of North and South America and western Europe. On many of the pages a portion of the map is shown so that readers can identify the location of the ships at that time. On the whole, the paintings are appealing and occasionally humorous, but cannot compensate for the weakness of the text. While historical information is included, the book is primarily fiction, but not much happens. The main character neither knows nor cares what is going on around him and, as a result, it is hard to care about him. Steve Lowe's selections from The Log of Christopher Columbus (Philomel, 1992) provide a dramatic first-person account of the voyage without making it seem like just another day's work. --Jean H. Jane Kucera has a degreee in chemical engineering from UCLA and is a chemical engineer with 25 years experieence in the area of membrane technology. Jane began her work with membranes in the Seawater Laboratory at UCLA where she received her Master of Chemical Engineering degree in 1984. She worked for 7 years with Bend Research, where she worked on water re-use systems for the International Space Station. Ms. Kucera's subsequent career path is a "who's who" of the world's most respected companies working in water treatment, including GE and Siemens. She joined the Nalco Company in 2003, where she is a senior engineer with a variety of responsibilities. She has approximately 40 publications to her credit, including journal articles, presentations, and book chapters.

Great book....great reference

Well written book with great photos and details that walk the reader through the evolution of membrane technology. Really enjoyed all the chapters, especially Chapter 17 (FAQs). As I have read other technical books in my career, this one truly gave a good consice feel of all subject matter (system design, computer modeling, materials of construction, impacts of various water quality and affect on membrane performance). Great reference overall!

Painfully boring and confusing

I bought this book because I wanted to get into informatics. This book is painfully boring to the extreme. Very hard to understand--it gets obsessed with a supercilious expression of sentence structure rather than trying to communicate information. It says nurses are not very well educated when it comes to computer technology and all must get advanced degrees to be worth something. It was very repetitious as well. I read paragraphs over and over again, and I had not a clue what I read. If you have problems sleeping, read this book. I guarantee you it will cure you of your insomnia so in that respect it is outstanding. The author must have bent over backward to present such a dull and uninteresting book that my original intent to get into informatics was just destroyed. I decided not to get such a certificate.

Had to buy this book for a course I was taking, and it was awful. Painfully repetitive and they used far too many abbreviations, many of which were never explained. The online access is just as useless at the book itself. I'll be glad to be rid of this book when my course is over!

Convoluted. A concise volume would be preferred.

This was a required text for a graduate course in nursing. While there were some very important concepts covered in the text and while I appreciated the focus on informatics for nurses, it was very poorly written. Even the simplest concepts were presented in long, drawn-out sentences and paragraphs spotted with grammatical and punctuation errors. Did the editors even read this text? I will strongly recommend that my professor use a different book next time around. If I had the time, I'd edit this book and send it to the authors, so they could come out with the concise version for their next edition. I hope they will hire a great editor with a large delete key to whip this text into shape! Then it will be a very useful text for nursing students!

First of all let me say that I am a big fan of Ted Bell. I have read all of his books including his Nick of Time books. I look forward to his next book, Phantom.

My issue with this short story was it's length; I have read other short stories by well known authors, one that comes to mind is Steve Berry. These were also .99 cents and were about 6-10 chapters in length and provided a short but well rounded story. This short story, Crash Dive, was about 1 chapter and about 30 some pages. Then they follow it up with a 98 page excerpt from Phantom.

The story was a very quick fun read, but I feel as though I was duped.

I did not expect the download to be 85% content for a book that comes out later this month.

In the future, I hope the author and the publisher would be more open with what one is purchasing.

NOW YOU CAN READ THE WHOLE STORY...

This short was published as part of a promotion for the new Alex Hawke book. A LOT of people were very dissatisfied
and for that I am very sorry. It was never meant to be more than what it is, a slice of a novel that at the time had not been
written. The scene in CRASH DIVE opens the new Hawke book. Without giving away spoilers I can say that it is what I hoped
it would be, a chance for readers to see the real Alex Hawke, the man, and the WARRIOR. I want to apologize to everyone
who feels they were misled and did not receive their money's worth. It is my intention to make that up to them when they
see how the story plays out full length. Believe me, such a mistake will not be made again. And I apologize for my lack of
foreseeing how this thing might have been perceived.
