About the Author
Robb S. Rehberg, PhD, ATC, CSCS, NREMT�is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of Athletic Training Clinical Education at William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey. He is also a partner of The Rehberg Konin Group and serves as co-founder and Executive Director of Sport Safety International. Dr. Rehberg previously served as the Director and Chief of Emergency Services at Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey. Prior to teaching at William Paterson, Dr. Rehberg spent 13 years as the head athletic trainer at Westwood Regional High School in Westwood, New Jersey. � ��

Dr. Rehberg earned his PhD in Health Science from Touro University International in 2003, a master of sport science degree from the United States Sports Academy in 1999, and a bachelor of science in Athletic Training from West Chester University in 1991. ��

Dr. Rehberg has spent his career working in both the athletic training and emergency services fields and has published and spoken frequently at state and national meetings on sports emergency care. Dr. Rehberg served as a member of the medical staff for athletics (track and field) at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia. He has been active on both state and national levels, having served on the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) Inter-Association Task Force for the Appropriate Care of the Spine-Injured Athlete, the Task Force on Appropriate Medical Coverage for the Secondary School-Aged Athlete, and the NATA Hall of Fame Subcommittee. Dr. Rehberg is a past-president of the Athletic Trainers’ Society of New Jersey. He has also served as the Chair of the National Safety Council Emergency Care Advisory Committee since 1992 and was a member of the American Heart Association Task Force that developed the first-ever international guidelines for first aid in 2000. He was a charter member of the New Jersey Disaster Medical Assistance Team. Dr. Rehberg is a member of the New Jersey Scholastic Coaches Association Hall of Fame, Athletic Trainers’ Society of New Jersey Hall of Fame, and is the recipient of the Ordo Honoris medal from the Kappa Delta Rho National Fraternity. � ��

Actually I love this story

Actually I love this story, and I purchased this hard cover to give as a gift to someone I think highly of. But when the copy arrived I was horrified! A book should be visually appealing and it should have a tactile appeal as well. This book has fine paper and weight, but It is a bad photo copy of an old book from the Harvard University Library. It is quite ugly. I could never give this as a gift to anyone!

Got it for a friend's daughter but I read it first. This is a classic that stands the test of time. I highly recommend it, if you have not read it yet. Easy read, written a long time ago but still wonderful, and gives good insight into the past.

I can't recommend this book more highly

This book changed my life. I have been a gardener most of my life, and have felt a connection to nature even as a city dweller. But reading this book has deepened my experience of the natural world into a much more spiritual level unlike any other book I have read previously. The science is fascinating and understandable; the wisdom is awe-inspiring. It is a book that I open and read whenever I need to plant my feet on the ground again. I can't recommend this book more highly.

This goes as a Top 10 Books of All Time in my opinion. Robin grew up in nature, was trained as a scientist, and returned to nature. This book seems to be the story of how she integrated these widely disparate traditions (scientific knowledge vs indigenous wisdom). For anyone who struggles with integrating science and naturalistic philosophy, this book may help illuminate the path along the way.

As a medical student training in mainstream hospitals, this book is a lifeline. I read a few pages at a time and take notes along the way. I won't spoil it, but if you are thinking that maybe this book might be good ... it's good.

Beautiful and important

I was lucky enough to be a student of Dr. Kimmerer's at SUNY ESF. While there, I took every class she offered. Dr. Kimmerer has the kind of quiet voice that everyone hushes to hear, not wanting to miss a word of her eloquence. Reading this book has reminded me to cultivate my love for the Earth in ways that my daughters can participate in, and to recognize the relationship between people and nature as a two-way street. We do not simply destroy or protect nature - we evolved in direct relationship with plants, and plants evolved in direct relationship with us. As an environmental scientist, I like to think that I look at the world through a lens of love and concern for the earth, but this book pushes me further in love and hope and urgency.

This is a great book if you have the right teacher. The book is very informative yet if you have no back ground in abnormal psych you might want to make sure the teacher for your course is capable of explaining it to you. I also recomend that you make sure your copy has a CD rom. The study guide and website are great tools too. They help a lot.

I am taking abnormal psychology course at the University of Brithsh Columbia, Canada. I really enjoyed reading this book because it is very informative and thought provoking and really made me abnormalities of the human being. I really liked the case examples. It takes a bit of time to read chapters but it worth the time.
