Misandria Institucionalizada

La tranquila y programada vida de R 154 se ve interrumpida cuando al cumplir los treinta a�os y pensar que ser�a trasladado a una nueva reserva se encuentra viviendo en casa de Alexia y descubre que todo el conocimiento adquirido hasta entonces era pura manipulaci�n y mentira institucional despertando en una bien estructurada sociedad totalmente femenina donde la misandria es la ley fundamental de la sociedad, donde desde peque�as se les inculca la androfobia, donde todos y cada uno de sus movimientos, encuentros, lecturas y hasta las eyecciones son registrados en bases de datos llegando incluso a planificar a traves de permisos la fecundaci�n y donde el como var�n representa el 5 porciento de la poblaci�n mantenida en cautiverio con el solo objetivo de producir semen para los bancos de inseminaci�n artificial descubriendo como acto final de su vida la manipulaci�n a que estaban sometidas estas mujeres por las altas jerarquias de esta sociedad amazona donde una nueva lucha de poder se est� gestando hace a�os en esta tan utopica sociedad de feminas pac�ficas, la supremacia de las lesbianas sobre las heterosexuales.
Novela original y entretenida .. de ciencia ficci�n?, �El sue�o de una feminista recalcitrante y ut�pica? Creo que no, la escribi� un hombre. Trama entretenida con un estilo algo Orweliano que recuerda m�s a las sociedades totalitarias planificadas donde el Gran Hermano nunca duerme, siempre listo para cortar por lo sano el mal social, un tema no solo pra disfrutar sino tambi�n para reflexionar y pensar.

A society without men

Los Hombres Sobran, by Ezequiel Tambornini, proposes a very interesting premise. Society is solely composed of women and only women are free. Men are housed (jailed) in farms (genetic farms) and where they spend their entire lives to serve one purpose: produce sperm to impregnate women. They are fed, kept in optimal shape and intellect to further positive genetic intellectual, and physical traits. But, they are never let out and they do not form part of society, at all.
The story revolves around R 154, a male specimen reaching his serviceable life (which is around age 30 or so) and Alexia, an official at the "men farm". Alexia risks her job, reputation, and life, when she decides to "kidnap or rescue" (take your pick) R 154 and use him as her own personal, well, man.
But, things become complicated as R 154 discovers all he has learned about the world is a lie. As Alexia explains the truth, as she knows, to R 154, her own world and beliefs are shaken as she begins to question everything, including her own history.
The author wrote the beginning of book in a very scientific way. The entire beginning felt like a college text book of anatomy. Then, as it progressed, doubt, humanity and emotions entered into the book through the writing. Tamborini sometimes overindulges in long sentences which made my eyes glaze over. But, overall, this is a pretty decently written book. The book did take a while to get to the plot and the author spent a lot of time and pages introducing the characters.
I definitely recommend this book. It not only has an interesting premise but, it challenges us to entertain some very interesting ideas about humanity, and women in general.

Un buen libro de ciencia ficci�n

No lo compr� en Amazon, me lleg� como regalo y me gust�.
Este libro me record� los libros "Farenheit 451", "1984" y la pel�cula "El planeta de los simios". Me gust� la manera en que est� escrito a pesar de que hubo algunos momentos en que me confund�a qui�n redactaba el texto. El final: perfecto, me encantan estos tipos de finales.
Como coincidencia, al mismo tiempo le� el libro "Cartas a un joven poeta" de Rainer Maria Rilke y en una carta de 1904, a m�s de un siglo de diferencia con "Los hombres sobran" (2011) narra perfectamente lo que podr�a ser la trama del libro:
Roma, 14 de mayo de 1904

La joven y la mujer, en su nuevo desarrollo personal, ser�n transitoriamente imitadoras de los buenos y malos modales masculinos, y ejecutantes de profesiones varoniles. Tras la incertidumbre de tales tr�nsitos se demostrar� que las mujeres habr�n pasado por esos abundantes y variados disfraces -con frecuencia rid�culos- s�lo para purificarse en lo m�s peculiar de su naturaleza, de las influencias deformadoras del otro sexo. La mujer suele tener una vida m�s espont�nea, m�s fecunda y m�s confiada que el hombre, y por lo tanto tambi�n m�s madura y m�s pr�xima a lo humano. (El macho pretencioso e impaciente suele ignorar el valor de lo que cree amar, porque no tiene contacto con las profundidades de la vida, como la mujer por el fruto de sus entra�as.) Esta humanidad madurada por la mujer en el dolor y en la humillaci�n, ver� el d�a en que ella romper� las cadenas de su condici�n social. Y los hombres, que no presienten tales hechos, quedar�n sorprendidos y vencidos. Un d�a (varios indicadores lo atestiguan ya en los pa�ses n�rdicos), la joven y mujer, no nada m�s significar�n lo contrario al var�n, sino algo por s� mismos, algo que no haga forzosamente pensar en un complemento ni en un l�mite, sino s�lo en una forma de vida: el ser humano femenino.
Este progreso transformar� (contra la voluntad de muchos hombres) la vida amorosa, hoy tan llena de errores. El amor no ser� ya una relaci�n de var�n y mujer sino de un ser con otro. Y ese amor, mucho m�s humano, ser� infinitamente m�s delicado, lleno de consideraciones, bueno y claro en todas las cosas que ate y desate. Se asemejar� al que precisamente estamos preparando con nuestra dura lucha: dos soledades protegi�ndose, limit�ndose e inclin�ndose una ante la otra.
